Capitol Hill
Kyle has served as a senior legislative staffer to two Members of Congress. During the 113th Congress, Kyle worked as Senior Policy Advisor to Congressman Steven Horsford, NV-04. In this role, he staffed Congressman Horsford on the House Homeland Security Committee and the House Financial Services Committee. Kyle was able to leverage his background as an IT professional and his national security classes at Georgetown Law, to advise the Congressman on homeland security and cybersecurity issues and policy.
Kyle returned as a congressional staffer during the 115th Congress, serving as District Director and Legal Counsel to Congressman Ruben Kihuen, NV-04. As District Director, he managed operations for the Nevada office, but also worked with the DC Legislative Team on legal aspects of policy matters and considerations. Kyle also directly managed legal issues for the office.
In addition to the specific congressional expertise developed as a staffer, Kyle also honed those skills with formal classes in Congressional Procedure and Congressional Investigations, taught by top experts in the field.
Not all congressional experience is equal. Many firms hire junior staffers or former interns, and present them to clients as "Hill staffers." Working on The Hill does not automatically confer policy or lobbying expertise. This is why experience matters.
